Abstract

The panel “Mining and steel industry: sustainable development challenges” will provide participants with a more comprehensive view of their business, with a focus on a number of factors that strongly impact their companies’ bottom line. Highlights include socio-environmental demands and increasing protectionism, the shortage of raw materials, measures by government agencies, infrastructure shortcomings, and new technologies. In the area of human resources, the scarcity of talents is a major aspect. The panel program includes 30-minute presentations by professionals from representative players in the mining and steel industries. In addition, there will be an opportunity for interaction (questions & answers) between lecturers and the audience.
