Date: September 5th, 2024

Time: 11h05 - 12:45

Room: Auditorium Vale-Energy Transition

Technical Committee:  Undergraduate Research

Coordinator: Willy Ank de Morais; Professor at UNISANTA

Moderator: Geraldo Lúcio de Faria; Professor at  UFOP

Objective:

Artificial intelligence is already a reality, and numerous generative AI tools are already part of the daily lives of students and teachers at Brazilian universities. These tools have shown great potential for helping people optimize various activities related to the arts, music, writing and text creation, as well as innovating processes through statistical data analysis. However, considering that the speed of development of these technologies outstrips society's ability to adapt to absorb them, important ethical, legal and social issues are still not well defined and need to be debated. In this context, the round table will debate visions and expectations related to the use of AI in the learning process and in professional life, as well as projections of the impacts of this technology on the future of Engineering in Brazil.
