Dr. José Henrique Noldin Júnior
ABM member, Applied Technology Manager at Tecno-Logos S/A.
Dr. José Henrique participated in the different development phases of Tecnored self-reduction process in the last 12 years, including the development of pilot plant and deployment of the first industrial unit of the technology. He has near 80 works published in abstracts, magazines and periodical publications; M.Sc and Ph.D in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering by Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio); Graduated in Mechanical Engineering by Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC);
Today, he is the Director of the technical division of raw materials reduction for iron works at ABM.
Dr. José Carlos D´Abreu
ABM member, Ph.D in Metallurgy by USP; Metallurgist Engineer by PUC-Rio; 179 works published in periodical publications and abstracts; 85 advising works for Theses, Dissertations and Monographs for Master and Doctorate degrees; 110 attendances as a member of Examination and Contest Tables; Associate Professor at PUC-Rio, Titular Professor at UFF and IME Lecturer.
Dr. Paulo de Freitas Nogueira
ABM member, Technology Manager for Metallurgical Process Simulation Technology, supervising the technical-economical assessment of new reduction processes since 2005; Researcher at IPT in the reduction and refining area during 8 years; 28 works published in abstracts, magazines and periodical publications; Ph.D in Science of Materials by the Center for Iron and Steelmaking Research (CISR) at Carnegie Mellon University; M.Sc in Metallurgical Engineering by Escola Politécnica da USP, Metallurgist Engineer by Escola Politécnica da USP;
PURPOSE
To provide a founded view on the existing primary iron production options worldwide, by discussing technical, economical and operational information on the emerging processes.
SCOPE
This course has been planned aiming at preparing professionals in the mining and reduction areas on the existing primary iron production technologies and the ones being developed. The course will discuss the current stage of several technologies and their technical, economical and environmental potential on the primary iron production phase, which is responsible for large portion of the investment, emissions generated and energy consumed throughout the entire steelmaking chain.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Technicians, engineers working in the metallurgical industry and interested in learning about the existing and new technology options for primary iron production.

COURSE PURPOSE
The course is aimed at presenting to the attendants basic notions, theory and enhancements on the Dynamic Optimization of processes – regulatory control, advanced control and view and optimization systems for the process flowchart, in a practical and objective way, by emphasizing the mineral processing.
SCOPE
The course has been prepared to present to the professionals the several technologies involved in the Dynamic Optimization of Processes, by highlighting the importance and limitation of each one.
The course will be conducted in Portuguese language.

Porfírio Cabaleiro
Renowned professional with 30-year experience in Mine Engineering, dedicated to the estimation of resources and reserves, mining plan, mine projects and economical assessment of mining projects. Mr. Porfírio worked at large-size consulting firms, such as Paulo Abib Engenharia, EPC and Geoexplore, and is currently working as Engineering Manager at Coffey Mining. He already participated in Geo-Metallurgy projects for Iron, Gold, Phosphate, Nickel, Uranium and Titanium, among other commodities.
Ricardo Álvares Campos Cordeiro
Mine Engineer and M.Sc in Engineering, Mr. Ricardo has 30-year experience in mineral processing, project development, open-cut mining production, resource estimation, geo-metallurgy and feasibility studies. He attended projects, developments or feasibility studies in Brazil and abroad, including: Copper Project (Brazil); Iron Ore (Brazil); Nickel Ore (Brazil); Coal (Brazil and Colombia); Diamond (Angola); Manganese (Gabon and Brazil); Phosphate (Brazil and Peru); Zinc (Peru); Gold (Brazil); Bauxite (Brazil); Tin (Brazil).

To present the major mathematical and geo-mathematical tools, and technological characterization of ores, aiming at preparing a program for survey and analysis of geo-metallurgical variables to be handled via goe-statistics approach.
