Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to conduct another ABM Seminar on Rolling, which is acknowledged as one of the most important events in the schedule of this Association.
We know that iron-steel industries always contributed actively with the seminar, but in the last years, the Organizing Commission has been looking for increasing the attendance of other segments in the Brazilian forming industry. The event conducted last year registered growth in the attendance of long rolling mills, and this year, encouraged by the sponsorship from Alcoa, as the host company, the non-ferrous product industry is also present in an outstanding way in our event, by presenting works already registered and also with higher number of attendants. This leads us to believe that we are on the right way.
The beautiful scenery chosen for this event, the excellent time lived by our metallurgical industry, with huge investments in progress, and the positive scenario we foresee ahead us, provide all the conditions for conducting an excellent event.

Guidelines on Clothing
We ask visitors to wear clothes allowed to access industrial facilities, that is: long-sleeve shirt or blouse, closed leather shoes (rubber sole) and trousers. High-heel shoes, sandals, Bermudas and capri pants are not allowed.
Safety
Due to the fact that 80 participants are expected, the following EPIs will be provided: helmet, cap, safety goggles and disposable ear protector.
Important
It is expressly voided the use of photo cameras (including cameras from cell phones, camcorders, notebooks or tape recorders.
Transfer
ALCOA will make available two buses for transfer.
Sticking to the schedule
We ask all participants to stick to the Schedule in order not to jeopardize the agenda.

DEADLINE
Registration in advance to the Seminar shall be accepted up to October 16th., 2008 - thursday. After this date and time, registration can be accepted only at the venue of the meeting.

CANCELLATION
These must be submitted in writing by e-mail. In the case of cancellation requested up to 10 days in advance of the begining of the meeting, that is to say, by October 11st. 2008, 80% of the total registration fee paid shall be returned. After that date, only substitutions shall be accepted. No-shows shall not be considered to imply automatic cancellation of any registration.
PUBLICATIONS
Papers presented in the Seminar, besides being published in the seminar’s proceedings, will compete for additional publication in the magazines Tecnologia em Metalurgia e Materiais, Materials Research and Matéria - an on-line scientific journal, to be published in 2009.
All three magazines are rated as Level A in Engineering II (materials, metallurgy, mines, nuclear and chemical engineering) in the Qualis Program by CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior/MEC (a Brazilian government agency that fosters higher education programs).

PORTO DE GALINHAS
Situated in the municipality of Ipojuca, Porto de Galinhas is the liveliest beach in the state. 60km south of Recife, Porto combines natural beauty with excellent tourist facilities and a part of Pernambuco's history: the beach used to be a slave trading point. Along its white sands, you can reach Muro Alto, whose name comes from a wall of coral that surrounds its natural pools, and the deserted beach of Gamboa. Among other nearby beaches are Maracaípe, which faces an open sea with strong waves that have made it a venue for international surf championships, and Serrambi, known for its calm blue waters and sophisticated condominiums.
