WELCOME
t is a great pleasure for the organizing committee of the 43rd Workshop on Rolling to receive the attendants for this event in the city of Curitiba.
The Workshop on Rolling offers, once more, a diversified agenda, including an "in company" course, invited lectures, technical visit to CSN, innovative subjects, in addition to the disclosure of best practices in the metal-mechanical industry and research centers in the rolling, mechanical forming, coated products and related processes.
The 2006 edition also includes important international works, contributions and experiences from South America, North America and Europe.
We are confident this will be a remarkable edition, which will exceed expectations and will contribute for the technological evolution and to establish new and enhanced professional and personal relations.
We wish you a pleasant and useful event to all the visitors and expect to meet their expectations.
Cordial hug,
Adriano Scheid
Event Coordinator
CURITIBA
Curitiba is one of the best cities in Latin America for the conduction of events, a condition evidenced by its excellent hotel infrastructure, diversified gastronomy, wide spaces for conferences and conventions, high-quality receptive facilities and services, providing cutting-edge technology and infrastructure for medium- and large-size events.
The top attraction in Curitiba is quality of life. For many years, the city administration has been massively investing in environmental preservation, urban planning and public transportation, with the citizens as the major focus of all the actions.
Green areas, formerly threatened to extinction, have been transformed in exuberant parks and woods, proving that, with responsibility both from the population and the government, it is possible to integrate harmoniously nature and urban spaces.
Samples of this environmental consciousness, such as Bosque do Papa (Pope’s Woods), Bosque Alemão (German Woods), Barigüi Park and Botanical Garden, among many others, multiply by the city. Visit them during your stay in Curitiba.
Our postcards show the ethnical and cultural richness and diversity of this city, which is proud in preserving the heritage from its antecessors in spaces integrated to the history, traditions and architecture brought by Italians, Germans, Polishes, Ukrainians, Japanese, Arabs, and many other people that contributed for the construction of the capital of the State of Paraná.
Welcome to Curitiba, in this 43rd ABM Workshop on Rolling and enjoy the beautiful and enchanting attractions provided by the city and its people.
Beto Richa
Mayor of Curitiba
