Steps for participation in ABM events

Technical and scientific papers for ABM events are submitted and accepted following the steps below:

STEP 1 - Submission of Abstract
An abstract of the paper must be submitted to ABM for approval, using the appropriate form which will be available during the call for papers phase. The format of the abstract must follow that established in the rules for submission. The name of the contact person must be furnished to ABM. Authors will receive confirmation of the acceptance of their abstracts as well as a paper reference number by e-mail.

STEP 2 - Appraisal of the Abstract and delivery of the complete paper
A preliminary evaluation of the abstracts presented will be made by the Technical Commission for the event. The contact person (indicated during Step 1) will receive an e-mail informing him/her that the paper has been accepted. The message will also supply the web address and the deadline for delivery of the complete paper. This paper should conform to the established rules and standards.

STEP 3 - Appraisal of the paper
The Editorial Committee will appraise the complete version of the paper, beginning with whether or not the rules and standards have been adhered to. Seven criteria will be used to appraise the papers. The contact person will be informed of the final acceptance and consequent inclusion of the paper in the event's grid. Any requests for additions and/or changes will also be made by e-mail and, should this occur, authors may opt to re-send their paper.

STEP 4 - Presentation and final appraisal
Corresponds to the presentation of the paper during the event and subsequent publishing in the records. Appraisal of the presentation will be added to that of the paper, in order to determine which papers will also be published in the ABM Technical Booklets (Cadernos Tecnológicos ABM). The sum of appraisals will also define the awarding of the Technical Recognition Awards - the grid for each event will inform in which category these the papers will be competing.
