Objective
Present the Thermophysical PROPERTIES OF MOLTEN SALGS AND FLUXES WITH REFERENCE TO THE VARIOUS STAGES IN STEELMAKING AND CASTING. THE PROPERTIES DISCUSSED ARE VISCOSITIES; THERMAL DIFFUSIVITIES; SURFACE TENSIONS ETC. THE IMPACT OF THESE PROPERTIES IN STEELMAKING IS PRESENTED. THE REQUIREMENTS WITH REGARD TO MOULD FLUXES IN THE CONTINUOUS CASTING OF STEEL ARE ALSO TAKEN UP WITH RESPECT TO THE THERMOPHYSICAL PROPERTIES.

Professor
Dr. SESHADRI SEETHARAMAN
Professor Seshadri Seetharaman holds the Chair of Theoretical Metallurgy at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. He received his Masters degree at the University of Madras, India and his Ph. D. at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India in 1971. Dr. Seetharaman joined the Royal Institute of Technology in 1973, became Associate Professor in 1981 and full Professor in 1990. Till recently, Dr. Seshadri Seetharaman was also the Director of Research Studies at the School of Industrial engineering and Management, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. He has more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and about 100 conference presentations. His research work is centered around the properties of steelmaking slags.
Associate Professor
Dr. Taishi Matsushittatook his Ph. D. degree from Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan in 2003 and joined the Royal Institute of Technology as Senior Research Associate. He has been awarded the title of “Docént” (Associate Professor) in 2008. Dr. Matsushita has more than 50 publications. His specialization is the measurement and modeling of the thermophysical properties of high temperature sustems, with special reference to slags.

We request that visitors be wearing adequate clothing, that is to say, closed leather shoes (rubber soles) and trousers. We also recommend that visitors opt for dark colored clothing. High-heeled shoes, open shoes, short trousers and Capri pants are not allowed.

Registration
Registration will be made from May 13th to 15th exclusively by the event desk with the payment of a R$ 40,00.
